Trompe L’oeil Oak Panel This particular faux bois (false wood) has been the most widely imitated wood in the last two centuries. Reaching its zenith during the late Victorian era, oak graining is once again very popular. Oak is ideally suited for numerous projects such as metal doors, radiator covers, interior woodwork and painted furniture.		Teak Because our rain forests are in danger, teak wood is a perfect candidate for the grainer. Like many tropical woods, teak is sought after for its durability, unique color and distinctive grain pattern. In many ways it resembles oak but the observant student will quickly notice the subtle variations that make this wood different from any other.

Maple Maple is a staple light wood finish for the grainer. It can be used alone or in combination with darker contrasting wood finishes for a graphic effect in flooring, furniture and wall applications.		Cherry Cherry is a rich reddish-brown, closed-grain native hardwood, characterized by a fine meandering overgrain and conspicuous thin dark streaks. It is used for furniture making and interiors. Homebuilders use cherry for staircases, floors, trim molding, doors and cabinetry.

Bird's Eye Maple
Bird’s eye maple is hardwood which can be cut to reveal highly decorative grain and figure. Demand outstripped the supply as early as the 1600’s. Furniture manufactures increased the use of thin veneers but eventually the high quality veneers became scarce and expensive too. In the 17th century, European architects, builders and furniture manufactures then turned to woodgraining . Woodgraining is enjoying quite a renaissance today as clients are requesting this light colored wood once more.

Verde Antique
Verde Antique is black green metamorphic marble closely resembling the background coloration of Tinos and other Serpentine marbles. Major characteristics of this marble are the prominent coal-like fragments and numerous bright green geodes. Small crystalline speckling adds depth and a touch of realism to this rich looking stone.
