Perfetto Crackles
Perfetto Crackle Products are all acrylic water-based crackle mediums that may be tinted or color washed to achieve the desired color. Perfetto crackle products are designed to be used over Perfetto Crackle Size.
Crackle Size is an extremely effective and efficient crackle promoter. It should be applied first on a primed substrate (Perfetto Bondago White or Clear or the Blue Pearl Bond Coat) and then one of the Perfetto Crackle Plasters should be applied over the top. Crackle Size should be allowed to dry for at least 4 hours prior to placing crackle material on top and overnight is recommended in most situations. The Crackle Size may also be thinned with water and placed on more as a wash, which will provide smaller cracks.
Grossezza CHP is a plaster type chipping crackle. CHP is to be used in conjunction with Perfetto Crackle Size to produce "chip off" crackle finishes. CHP can be used for strategic chipping over base coats or latex paints to provide an old world chipped look. CHP was designed to chip off if not used in conjunction with the Perfetto Crackle Size, basically, the areas that the Crackle Size is not applied is where the CHP is going to "chip off".
Grossezza XT is a user friendly, high viscosity plaster type crackle that should be applied over a well primed surface. When used in conjunction with Perfetto Crack Size, it produces a wide range of blocky crackle style finishes. Additionally, XT may be applied without the use of Crackle Size, to produce small cracks. It is not necessary to seal XT prior to color washing. An attractive finish can be achieved by simply troweling the XT on the wall, tapping it with the flat surface of the trowel to obtain highs and lows, allowing the XT to dry off about 30% to 40% and then knocking the highs back down and color washing once dry.
